Summer Session Information for Faculty

Why Teach a Summer Session Class?

Instructors are able to earn additional salary by teaching a Summer Session course. Summer Session also provides an opportunity to teach a special interest course.

When is Summer Session?

June 11 – August 10, 2012. The University is closed July 4, 2012 in observance of Independence Day.

Timeline for Summer Session 2012

1. Course proposal forms due to CGE by December 1, 2011. Individual Schools/Colleges may establish earlier deadlines and procedures. Please contact your Dean's office for more information.
2. Course list is available to students: March 15, 2012
3. Early Registration—March 19 – May 29, 2012
4. Registration closed—May 30 – 31, 2012. CGE staff will contact instructors during this time to discuss enrollment projections.
5. Go/No-Go announced—June 1, 2012
6. Registration resumes for classes declared a "go"— June 1, 2012 through the first day of class
