Registration Instructions for the New CGE Student

Currently, students may register only for CGE credit classes online (if you wish to enroll in Non-Credit CGE classes you must either enroll in person or by mail.)

New students are students who have not enrolled at California State University, Fresno, and have no Student ID number.  New students must create an account to access the online My Fresno State registration system.

Short Instructions for New CGE Students

  1. Go to the My Fresno State portal (link opens in new window).
  2. Click "Continuing & Global Ed Courses" under the My Menu heading at the far left.
  3. Click on the [New Students] button.
  4. Enter all your information correctly.
  5. Double check your information.
  6. Click the [Continue] button.
  7. Select the Program to Enroll and Term.
  8. Click the [Submit] button.
  9. Registration Successful!
  10. Write down your Student ID.  This will be your Student ID number for your entire career at Fresno State.
  11. Click on the “Get Email Account” to create your own Fresno State Email Account.  You will need this to log into the My Fresno State portal to enroll in classes.
  12. After you have created your email account, click the [My Fresno State Portal] button to login and enroll in classes.
  13. You are now considered a "returning student." To continue enrolling in classes, see our "Instructions for Returning Students”.

(If you see this page, then you match too closely to someone who is a returning student, and you need to contact the Division of Continuing and Global Education to determine if you are that returning student or if you are indeed a new Fresno State student).

7. Select the Program to Enroll and Term (if you have a bachelors degree, select postbac CGE for credit; if not, select undergraduate CGE classes for credit)

8. Click the [Submit] button

9. Application Successful
