Biotechnology Camp (cancelled - please check back next summer)
For youth entering grades 10 – 12
This summer camp will allow students interested in science to learn about the techniques used in biotechnology and explore its career path. As a leader in biotechnology since its beginnings, California has a constant need for qualified individuals to fill jobs in this vibrant industry. Students will gain hands-on experience in biological techniques and develop critical thinking skills while earning one unit of university credit.

- Fee: $279 (register by June 5); $305 (after June 5, subject to availability); $60 additional fee for one optional unit
Instructor: Alejandro Calderon-Urrea, Ph.D., came to Fresno State in the fall of 1997, after conducting Ph.D. work at Yale University and post-doctoral work at the Plant Gene Expression Center USDA-UC Berkeley. Since his arrival he has excelled on teaching, research, and his interactions with the local community.
