Economic Education
The mission of the Center for Economic Education at California State University, Fresno is to advance the level of economic understanding in the community at large. We take the objectives of economic education to be responsible citizenship and effective decision making. Our purpose is to assist the residents of the San Joaquin Valley to understand and to make reasoned judgments about major economic questions facing society and themselves. Our three-way university-business-public school partnership enables the center to offer economic education programs for teachers in the school systems, and for future teachers enrolled at our university. We also engage in curriculum development projects with school districts to infuse economics principles into the school curriculum, with the ultimate purpose of creating a more economically literate population.
