The Digital Campus. The Digital
Campus aims to serve students from all walks of life by providing
choices in learning styles to meet the changing needs of our society.
In addition to serving students, the Digital Campus provides assistance
to the faculty of Fresno State in creating and teaching online
courses that are dynamic, interactive, and instructional.
Whether here on campus or located remotely in the region or overseas,
all enrolled students can participate in the Digital Campus experience
by taking either partially Web-enhanced courses that supplement
the traditional classroom experience or completely Web-based courses
in which only online attendance is required.
Blackboard. The Digital Campus online courses are brought
to you through Blackboard, a powerful Web-based e-Learning portal
system. Students are able to have access to the Digital Campus
with a single login at http://blackboard.csufresno.edu/.
Students have 24/7-access to Blackboard in order to:
- View or print syllabi and lecture notes
- View video/audio provided by faculty
- Engage in discussion boards with fellow students
- Meet faculty and students in the Virtual Classroom
- Submit assignments via the Digital Drop Box

Here to Help. In the fall semester of 2001, more than
half the student population participated in Digital Campus online
courses (9,000 students). The Digital Campus provides training
for students, faculty, and staff through workshops, consultation,
and drop-in assistance through the Digital Campus Resource Center
located in McKee Fisk. The staff consists of instructional designers,
trainers, and technology and production support assistants who
are cheerful and ready to help in any way.
