2021-2022 Mainstage Season

Fresno State University Theatre is pleased to announce the return of in-person performances for our 2021-2022 Mainstage Season. Our season features our annual Contemporary Dance Ensemble Concert, four Fresno premieres, and a 25th anniversary production of a Broadway classic. The season offers a diverse range of work from seasoned playwrights as well as young, up and coming playwrights.

Our season begins with the darkly humorous feminist thriller “Man of God” written by Anna Ouyang Moench. Next up we present “This is Our Youth” by Kenneth Lonergan, recently ranked one of the 25 best plays of the last 25 years by The New York Times. We round out the fall semester with the pulsating documentary theatre piece, “Wilderness” by Seth Bockley and Anne Hamburger. Our spring semester kicks off with the return of the always riveting Contemporary Dance Ensemble’s spring concert. Following the spring dance concert is Luis Alfaro’s “Electricidad”, a latinx adaptation of Sophocles’ “Electra”. We finish our season with Jonathan Larson’s seminal work, “Rent,” celebrating its 25th anniversary.

University Theatre Mainstage tickets are not yet available for purchase.

Please note, University Theatre will be following all Fresno State COVID protocols, which currently includes a mask requirement for all audience members regardless of vaccination status. Full University Theatre audience COVID protocols will be released at a later date.
