Dr. Thomas Loewenheim is a modern renaissance man: a unique musician who enjoys an international career, combining cello performance, conducting, and teaching at the highest levels. He has toured North America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East, performing with orchestras, giving recitals, and playing chamber music, and has been broadcast over the national radio networks in Austria, Canada, and Israel. Loewenheim is currently Professor of Cello and Conductor of the Fresno State Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Music Director and conductor of the Youth Orchestras of Fresno. Previously he taught at the Indiana University String Academy and the Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), and served as music director and conductor of the Musical Arts Youth Orchestra (MAYO) in south-central Indiana.

Professor Herring came to Fresno State in 2007 after a distinguished career in professional theatre, having been the Education Director and then overall Artistic Director of Stage One in Louisville, KY, one of the country's premiere children's theatre companies. Daniel directs the Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) that travels to elementary schools all over the Central San Joaquin Valley performing to over 10,000 children per year. In addition to collaborating with the Arne Nixon Center for the Study of Children’s Literature, J. Daniel directs plays and musicals for the Theatre Department’s Mainstage season. In 2010, J. Daniel directed Eastern Standard to high acclaim receiving an American College Theatre Festival nomination for inclusion in the regional Invitational Scene Festival. This fall he will direct T.I.C.
