Michael Tate

Dr. Michael G. Tate (A.B., UC Berkeley 1966; M.A. and Ph.D., Indiana University, 1973), joined the Department of English at California State University, Fresno, in 1970.

Dr. Tate intiated the Department’s Film Studies Division and, in addition to instructing in that program, has been a writer of film criticism and documentary filmmaker.

His work has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Humanities, and he has partcipated in numerous national conferences devoted to film scholarship.
