Timothy Skeen
Dr. Timothy Skeen earned a Ph.D.
in Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska in 1993. He
specializes in 20th Century American poetry.
Dr. Skeen joined the faculty at California State University,
Fresno, in Fall 2004. His most recent collection of poems,
Kentucky Swami, won the John Ciardi Prize for Poetry in
2001. The book was published by BkMk Press at the University of
Missouri-Kansas City.
The Kentucky native’s poems have appeared in journals
and magazines including the
Antioch Review, Prairie Schooner, New Letters, the Mid-American
Review, and the
Sonora Review. He earned a grant from the Kentucky Arts
Council and an Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching,
Learning, and Technology at the tenth annual Conference on College
Teaching and Learning.
Dr. Skeen lives in Fresno with his wife, Pam, and their
daughter, Iris.
