Analola Santana
Analola Santana received her Ph.D. in Latin
American Literature from the University of California, Irvine
(2008). Professor Santana specializes in XX and XXI Century
Latin American literature with a special emphasis on theatre and
performance. She is also interested in theoretical studies
relating to popular culture and mass culture, the relationship
between performance and music, film studies, and cultural
studies. Her recent book
Pasiones y (Des)amores: Cultura de masas y teatro en tiempos
neoliberales (Escenología, 2010) focuses on the
reapropriation of mass culture by theatrical discourses in Latin
America. She has worked as a dramaturg and a translator in
several theatrical productions in the U.S. and Latin America.
