The 2018 China Program is offering a 3-week session at the end of Spring semester at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Join us for an authentic China experience and earn 3 units of course credit.

Spend three weeks in Shanghai, the largest cosmopolitan city of China with native Chinese-speaking professors in a total immersion environment for learning the Chinese language and culture, interacting with local Chinese students, touring the best of China’s traditional architecture and gardens, museums and galleries, and seeing the amazing development of China’s modernization as part of your experience.

Visit Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province in China, noted for its beautiful natural scenery and long history. Tour Suzhou, an ancient city known for its profound culture heritage, including canals, stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens.

Japan Program

3-Week Summer Program - May 28-June 16, 2018

Course: Ling 120: Japanese Language and Culture (CN: 33533) (No prerequisite required)

Semester: Spring 2018

Units: 3

Estimated Cost: $3,150.00 + $75.00 (Insurance)

Financial support ($1,000) is available for first 11 eligible students

This summer study trip to Japan will enhance your knowledge of Japanese culture, society, and language. The emphasis of the program is to make "Japan the classroom."

You will have a chance to study with Japanese students at Osaka Shoin Women's University and the Tokiwa University in Mito city. Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Mito, Kamakura, and Tokyo will be your classrooms with visits to historical and cultural sites (castle, temples, and museums).

Also, you will have a chance to stay with a Japanese host family for a week in Osaka.
