Graduate Student Resources

Provost's Graduate Scholarships

The Division of Graduate Studies offers a limited number of scholarships ranging from $1,000-$3,000 per year, renewable for a second year, to exceptional graduate student applicants.  Candidates to the MA program in Communication will automatically be considered for these scholarships based on their department application materials.  No additional scholarship application materials are needed.  Additional opportunities for graduate student funding are available in the form of Graduate Teaching Assistantships.

Out of State Tuition Waivers

A limited number of tuition waivers are available for U.S. graduate students who are not residents of California to defer the costs of out-of-state tuition.  Please note that tuition waivers do not exempt students from paying regular state university fees.  To be considered for these waivers, students must demonstrate exceptional scholarly ability, enroll full-time (9 units minimum), and remain in good academic standing.  If you are interested in being considered for an out-of-state tuition waiver, please contact the Department's Graduate Coordinator.
