On behalf of the Armenian Studies Program, we would like to welcome you to Fresno State.
The Armenian Studies Program offers a wide variety of courses in Armenian and Armenian Studies. We advise students seeking a Minor in Armenian Studies and provide information about the Program.
Students have several opportunities to become involved in the Armenian Studies Program.
1) Join the Armenian Students Organization, an organization which promotes Armenian culture on campus. Open to all students.
2) Join the staff of the Hye Sharzhoom/Armenian Action supplement to The Collegian on campus. A variety of positions are open: staff writer, photographer, and copy editor.
3) Pursue a Minor in Armenian Studies by taking Armenian and Armenian Studies courses.

Joseph Bohigian Awarded 2015 President's Medal-
Receives Minor in Armenian Studies
Bohigian was awarded the President's Medal as the outstanding undergraduate student at Fresno State. He also received the Dean's Medal for the College of Arts and Humanities. He has been playing music since age 5. He is a member of the College of Arts and Humanities Honors Program, and has received numerous academic and music scholarships. He is president of the Fresno State Composers’ Guild and founder and president of the New Music Ensemble at Fresno State.
Bohigian composed a work to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide which was performed in Fresno and Los Angeles. After graduation, he plans to pursue graduate studies in music composition at Stony Brook University in New York, where he has been awarded a Graduate Council Fellowship.
