The Top Dog Alumni Awards Gala is a Fresno State Alumni Association’s signature black-tie event, where outstanding alumni are honored from the eight schools and colleges and other departments. We also honor a Distinguished Alumnus, an Arthur Safstrom Service Award, and scholarship recipients.

Tim Anderson (Student) entered the Red Bull Flugtag flying contest in Long Beach. The team is called Fresno's Red, White and Brew and includes Raffy Sencion, Jacob Sencion, Dayne Jer Eddings and Victor Zuniga.

Brittany Beard (Student) is a recipient of the CSU Trustee's Award for Outstanding Achievement. As an undergraduate, she received President Obama's Volunteer Service Award for dedicating more than 850 internship hours. MoreRead more

1LT(P) Brian Campbell (2009) and CPT Luc Taylor (2000) are both currently serving in Herat, Afghanistan. They are stationed for about 10 months and should be coming home in March 2014. 

Juanita Castellano
 (2004, '13) has joined Visalia Medical Clinic's Lindsay Medical Group as a nurse practitioner.

Diana Gomez (1988) is the recipient of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) National STAR - Jamie Oaxaca Award. This is the highest award given by SHPE that recognizes outstanding contributions in the fields of engineering and science and the Hispanic American community. Gomez also is on the Board of Directors of the Fresno State Alumni Association. 

Olympic figure skating champion Robin Greiner(Alumnus) is represented in photos as part of the upcoming Valley Firsts! exhibition being held at the Henry Madden Library at Fresno State through December 15. Dana Lucka ('81, '00) was named an Outstanding Fundraising Professional for the National Philanthropy Day hosted by AFP California Central Valley. She was nominated by Jody Hironaka Juteau, Dean of the College of Health & Human Services.

Wayne Northrup
 (2002) has recently been matched for a bone marrow transplant to a man to a man suffering from leukemia. During his transplant on October 28th, Wayne plans on wearing his Fresno State Bulldogs gear.

Dave Rodgers (1990, ’93, ’94) was highlighted in Valley Response Magazine for his work as the EMS enrichment class instructor at Golden West High School. In his classes, Dave teaches students about the basic realities EMTs face on a daily basis. Dave is also a part-time EMT in Tulare County.
