FRESNO STATE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ENDORSES PROP. 30.
The Board of Directors' of the Fresno State Alumni Association (FSAA) has passed a resolution endorsing Proposition 30: Sales and Income Tax Increase at its recent meeting held on Aug. 25, 2012.
"Without Prop. 30 passing on Nov. 6th, the 23-campus California State University (CSU) system will be faced with a 'trigger cut' of $250 million. The 'trigger cut' to Fresno State would be more than $13 million." reported Clyde Ford, president of the board of directors' of the FSAA. "Fresno State alumni and friends are urged to support Prop. 30, and in turn, support Fresno State and the CSU."

FRESNO STATE YEARBOOK COLLECTION
The campus produced yearbooks from 1912 through 1991, and the Henry Madden Library endeavors to make all of these available via our electronic collections. Starting with the older yearbooks, the Library is making these important historical documents available as funding to scan them becomes available.

The Fresno State Alumni Association website has a "new look," thanks to the professional assistance provided by Fatih Yenen, a web designer with Fresno State's Office of University Communications. The site utilizes the University's newly-rebranded logo, and includes new pages such as Advocacy, Notable Alumni, Student Scholarship Recipients, Traditions and Working for California.

The Bulldog Pride Fund (BPF) has presented $10,000 equally to its 2012-13 scholars: Leo Barajas, Dausha Calhoun, the student performing as Fresno State's mascot TimeOut, Michelle Swift and Justin Kamimoto. In 2006, the BPF was established with one simple mission: "To support student scholarships at Fresno State." To-date, it has provided 23 scholarships valued at $39,000. www.bulldogpride.org.

Nancy Hollingsworth (1982), President and CEO of Saint Agnes Medical Center; Francine Oputa (1985, 2012), Director of the Central Valley Cultural Heritage Institute at Fresno State; Matilda Soria (1998, 2000), Director of Research and Development, Reading and Beyond; and Dora Westerlund (1996), President and CEO of the Fresno Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; have been selected as Top Ten Professional Women of 2012 by the Marjaree Mason Center. Jeff Kandarian (2009), owner and winemaker of Kandarian Wine Cellars in Oregon's Willamette Valley, has recently been awarded a bronze medal for his 2012 Kandarian Wine Cellars Blue Eye, Sauvignon Blanc at the 2012 Sunset International Wine Competition. Congratulations!

Nancy Osborne (1976) has announced her retirement as a news anchor from KFSN Channel 30 (ABC) after a 35 year career. She was named to the prestigious Silver Circle in 2005, an honor presented by the Northern California division of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences to those who have worked and excelled in the television news industry for 25 years.
Amelia Ryan (2000) pictured left, and Terry Lewis (Alumnus) pictured right, recently appeared as Desiree Armfeldt and Fredrick Egerman respectively, in "A Little Night Music." The StageWorks' production was directed by Joel Abels (1996).
Greg Stach (1992), the winemaker for Landmark Vineyards in Sonoma County, has won two silver awards at the 2012 Sunset International Wine Competition for 2010 Landmark Overlook, Chardonnay and 2010 Landmark Damaris Reserve, Chardonnay. Cheers!
Scott Stokes (1990) has been named by Citibank as the new Market President for the Washington, D.C. metro area and Baltimore, a role within the U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking Business. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Army, active and reserve.
