Jim Nielsen (1967), a California State Senator (4th Dist. - R), threw the ceremonial first shot put to open the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the State Capitol in Sacramento earlier this week. Robert H. Oliver (1966), a Superior Court Judge, has been selected as the 2014 recipient of the Bernard E. Witkin Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed by the Fresno County Bar Association. He has served as a judge for nearly 20 years and is being recognized both for his legal and community service. Oliver was presented the Top Dog Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Fresno State Alumni Association in 2010.
