Fresno State honors local officers killed in the line of duty - Flags on campus were lowered to half-staff on Feb. 26 for two law enforcement officers with ties to the university who were fatally wounded in a shootout in southeastern Fresno County on Feb. 25. Officer Bejar (2008), a kinesiology major, was a Marine Corps veteran, who joined the Reedley Police Department in 2005. Detective Wahlenmaier took a course through Fresno State’s Extended Education program in fall 2002, four years after joining the Sheriff’s Department. Read more
