Elisa began working in the floral laboratory as a volunteer in 2005. In August 2006 she was accepted for the Floral Technician - Manager Position. She has also been accepted for a teaching position, teaching floral design to university students here at Fresno State. In June 2011 Elisa was awarded the honor of being named a Coleman Fellow.  A distinguished honor for instructors who establish and teach courses incorporating entrepreneurship into their current subject.  In August 2011 she was awarded the honor of being classified as a Certified Floral Designer (CFD) by the American Institutue of Floral Design. 

The floral industry’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the art of floral design through education, AIFD created its CFD program, in part, to provide a tool for consumers to use when selecting a professional floral designer. CFD recognition is granted only after a floral designer has demonstrated their understanding of the concepts of design through education pathways and then by subjecting their floral design work to a vigorous peer evaluation conducted by an international panel of design experts.

Elisa began her personal experience booking weddings from her home, while working as an administrative assistant at Pelco. She brings with her 3yrs of professional personal experience.

Elisa was married to Christopher Valdez on May 17th, 2008.  (She did her own flowers) They welcomed their first child, Elias Christopher Valdez; on September 8, 2009.

Elisa completed her bachelors degree in December 2008.  She has succeeded in creating her own business called Making Memories.  Specializing in shadowboxes and custom invitation services.  She hopes to return for her masters degree in the near future. 

During high school Elisa was named Who’s Who among American High School Students for two consecutive years. She was an active member of the International Thespian Society, and Associated Student Body. She participated in the athletic training program, and was statistician for wrestling, and football. She graduated with recognition in history on the Golden State Examination.
