Boldly Together

President Joseph I. Castro

Fresno State recently lost two icons. Former U.S. Poet Laureate Philip Levine and Coach Jerry Tarkanian will be long remembered for their impact on Fresno State and our community. Their stories of impact are highlighted below along with other campus news to keep you connected and involved.

"Community involvement is critical. It's the recipe for success!" says new Athletics Director Jim Bartko. Let's welcome Jim and read some fun facts about him.

This campus is open to everyone, and I invite you to find new ways to link to Fresno State - whether it's enjoying wine or ice cream at the Gibson Farm Market, visiting the Downing Planetarium, attending a public lecture by political analyst Donna Brazile or supporting an event listed this month.

This community newsletter demonstrates the many ways you and Fresno State are stronger together, since together we can boldly make a difference in our region. We hope you'll enjoy the stories and campus news with a community twist.
