Welcome to the 2016 Bold Ideas Challenge!

President Joseph I. Castro has extended another call to the community of Fresno State for their bold, creative  and innovative ideas to help improve services to students, teaching, learning or process improvements for the university. The challenge is open to all faculty, staff and administrators.

The challenge will run from January 14 – February 5, 2016.

Bold Idea winners will receive a $1,000 cash award (subject to all applicable state and federal taxes) or a $1,000 professional development award. 

Thank you for submitting your BOLD Ideas! Projects will be announced in April.


2014 Recap:

157 Bold Ideas were submitted.

  • 12 ideas were forwarded to CAIFE teams for assessment and possible implementation
  • 130 ideas were sent to departments for review (many of the quick wins have already been implemented!)
  • 15 ideas were not feasible
