Strategies

Analytics

The university will use advanced data analysis to support decisions that improve student success, retention, graduation and lifelong learning and engagement.

Digital Content

The university will use multiple aspects of digital content, such as audio and video, for the purposes of teaching, learning and research. The university also will address needs for a digital content hub and improve storage for all university needs, including the growing demand for research data storage.

Instructional Technology and Learning Spaces

The university will use technology to improve learning and provide optimum access to classes, including online and hybrid (or “blended”) courses. The campus will undertake course redesigns and establish contemporary, digital technology standards for classrooms, labs, and study spaces.

Mobility & BYOD (bring your own device)

The focus here is to widen access with measures that include expanding the university’s wireless network and increasing mobile applications that provide access to a variety of services. This strategy will explore the use of “cloud” applications for secure file storage, filesharing, and online collaboration for faculty, students, staff and administrators.

Communication, Collaboration and Engagement

A major component of the plan is the creation of compelling, interactive and personalized communications to the Fresno State community, on and off the campus, including the use of social media and mobile communications.

Effective Services

The university will focus on effectiveness and optimizing existing technology services, and where practical, offering new technologies. Our goals include boosting online enrollment and global access, focusing on diverse populations and increasing student satisfaction with Information Technology assistance.
