As of May 2013, Environmental Health and Safety, Risk Management and Sustainability stopped coordinating paper recycling collection efforts from department offices. Paper recycling is now included as a part of the regular trash pickup performed by Custodial Services. Through a collaborative effort involving Custodial Services and Industrial Waste & Salvage (IWS), the current contractor that handles campus solid waste and recyclables, the items that can be recycled will now be sorted by the contractor offsite.
If you have bins that are being missed during the regular trash service, or if you have a special waste pickup request (i.e. storage or office cleanout or closure), please contact Plant Operations at 278-2373 or submit a work request by clicking here.
Please securely bag all shredded paper waste. Unbagged shredded paper waste will not be accepted for pickup.
Please do not place any of the following items in paper recycling or trash bins
- Toner and Ink Cartridges
- Universal Waste
- Food contaminated waste should be placed in trash bins that are serviced daily, such as department office and restroom trash bins (in order not to attract vermin)
