Supervisor/Manager Information
Supervisor occupational safety responsibilities include:
- Identifying, eliminating and/or minimizing workplace hazards
- Ensuring that employees receive training regarding:
- Injury and Illness Prevention Program
- Emergency procedures (departmental and campus-wide)
- Hazard Communication (chemicals)
- Job Specific hazard training
- Providing supervision to ensure that employees perform work in a safe manner and in accordance with established rules and procedures
- Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary to correct unsafe work behaviors
- Participating in accident investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
