Message from the Director:

Adrian

As Director of the Title V – Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) program at California State University, Fresno, I welcome you to peruse our website. Our program is intended to transform the academic environment as well as make significant and sustainable contributions toward student success.  In order to fulfill our charge by 2015, we named the program, Commitment to Latina/o Academic Success & Excellence (C.L.A.S.E.).   In the Spanish language, the word “CLASE” means class.

  • For students, visit our “students” section to locate valuable information and resources on how to persist through college and attain your goal of graduation.
  • For faculty and staff, visit our “faculty/staff” section to uncover academic articles, presentations, resources, and information on our plans to improve student writing, critical thinking skills, course redesign efforts, cultural competency, and integrative career tools.

Program staff makes every effort to “create a culture of success” for Latino and all students at Fresno State.  We cannot achieve our goals alone. We hope you get involved in our efforts to make a difference in the lives of students, our campus community, and the Central San Joaquin Valley.

. . . Adrian Ramirez, Director
