Lyles College of Engineering
Designing and Building the Future
The Lyles College of Engineering (LCOE) is dedicated to delivering high-quality engineering and construction management education through innovation-based hands-on interdisciplinary curriculum, practice and service.
California State University, Fresno has offered engineering courses and degree programs since 1922. Over the years, several thousand students have graduated with degrees in engineering and construction management, and many were first-generation college students.
Our alumni have included astronauts, innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, builders, and executive leaders in corporations such as Rockwell International, The Boeing Company, Intel, Cisco, Motorola, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, IBM, Lockheed Martin, NASA, Pelco , PG&E, E&J Gallo, International Paper, Grundfos, JBT Food Tech and more. Our alumni also are leaders in local and regional companies such as De Young Properties, Ransom and Associates, Pickett and Sons, Provost and Pritchard, Granville Homes, and Lyles Diversified; and many have assumed leadership roles at all levels of public service including city, county, state and federal governments.
Faculty in the Lyles College of Engineering have a wide range of expertise and are engaged in research and projects in many areas of engineering and construction management. The faculty not only work closely with students, but also develop partnerships with industries in our region and beyond.
Students have many opportunities for internships, research, projects, and service learning. Students also have opportunities to join and participate in student chapters of professional organizations to expand contacts with fellow students and professionals. The college offers Pathways, a student services program that provides supplemental instruction, tutoring, industry tours, and numerous professional development opportunities for the students.
