College of Health and Human Services

Educating for the Health and Well-Being of Residents in the San Joaquin Valley

Graduates of academic programs in the College of Health and Human Services have benefited from the use of leading edge equipment that promotes science-based approaches in Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Nursing, Environmental Health, Deaf Education and Speech/Language Pathology.

Software-based applications assist academic programs in Sports Psychology, Recreation Administration, Social Work Education, Gerontology, Community Health, and Health Promotion.  Many of these programs rely on STEM-based courses offered in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Math, Physics, and Nutrition.

Engaging with Faculty and Professionals in STEM Fields

Dr. Jody Hironaka-Juteau, Interim DeanFaculty in the college and directors and staff in our Centers and Institutes engage with faculty across the university and professionals in STEM fields to survey environmental and community settings to better understand the complex array of challenges that affect quality of life in the San Joaquin Valley.  Our united challenge is to develop approaches to service and policy change that makes a difference.

The College of Health and Human Services supports the growth and future development of STEM partnership across the campus and region.
