Assistant Vice President of International Affairs

Dr. Sarah Lam is the Assistant Vice President for International Affairs. Dr. Lam has more than 20 years of experience as a faculty member at Fresno State training advisers and counselors in both mental health and educational settings. She has served roles as program coordinator and administrator in higher education. She has experience in international recruitment, study abroad, and intensive English programs services. Dr. Lam has been an international student at Fresno State from Hong Kong and participated in study abroad in Spain from the U.S. She speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin.

Alicia has been working in International Admissions since September 2002. She previously worked in Admissions/Records/Evaluations for four years. Alicia is a Fresno State graduate. She enjoys working with the international students and staff very much, and thus far says it has been an enjoyable and enriching experience.

Coordinator of International Admissions

Danny serves as the International Admissions Lead. Since 2000, he has managed in scholarships & recruitment, international admissions, F and J visa advising, programming and study abroad. A native of Taipei and Kansas City, Danny was in the foreign services for two years. He has an extensive background in intercultural communication.

Geovany serves as an International Admissions Specialist. Originally from Mexico, he experienced the journey of learning a new educational system and adjusting to a new culture.  He graduated from Fresno State in 2018 with his Master's Degree. Geovany is excited to welcome new and diverse cultures to Fresno State!

Brenton serves as an International Admissions Specialist. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Science in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Jamie Jones Jamie Jones | E-mail
International Office Coordinator

Jamie serves as the International Office Coordinator and manages the International Student Ambassador program. With a strong international and student services background, particularly in the areas of student services and advising, she enjoys working with international students and being actively engaged in the internationalization process here at Fresno State. Originally from Northern California, she brings with her a sense of adventure, a love of the outdoors and culinary curiosity. Jamie holds a master’s degree in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco.

International Student Advisor

Jasmine serves as an International Student Advisor. She brings to Fresno State a unique experience working as an International Student Advisor for universities in both China and in the United States. This career background provides her with a distinct understanding of the transitional issues international students experience.  With her professionalism and passion for international education, Jasmine has an established record of being a supportive and dedicated international student advisor who is committed to providing services that ensure international students are successful and enjoy their experience at Fresno State.  Jasmine holds a master's degree in Social Psychology.

International Student Advisor

Marivel serves as an International Student Advisor. She graduated with a Masters in Counseling from Fresno State in 2019 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology combined with Latin American and Latino Studies from UC Santa Cruz. Marivel is a study abroad alumni and has worked in promoting study abroad. She is committed to advocating for international education and serving the international community at Fresno State.
