23rd Annual California State University
Student Research Competition
May 1 - 2, 2009 at CSU Los Angeles

The system-wide conference exhibits excellent research by CSU undergraduate and graduate students from each of the 23 campuses.  Each of the eight academic schools submitted the names of their top candidates to represent the university at this event.  A total of 193 students presented their research in ten different categories.

Fresno State undergradute student Heather Upton won first place within the Biological and Agricultural Sciences Undergraduate Division at the CSU Student Research Competition. Heather was also the American Chemical Society winner at our Central California Research Symposium which was held on April 23. Heather's faculty mentor is Dr. Mamta Rawat and her research is on the Degradation of Malachite Green in Mycobacterium smegmatis.

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) manages Fresno State's participation in the CSU Student Research Competition.
