Employee training and testing available through ACT Center

FRESNO, Calif. - Training employees to be productive and skillful is one of the most expensive problems facing businesses. Hiring an employee lacking crucial skills can lower productivity, drive down profits and put a drag on morale.
Fresno State’s ACT Center was established in 2001 to deliver state-of-the-art testing and training services to area employers in a convenient and cost-effective manner. The Center will relocate this month from California State University, Fresno to Manchester Center,
"We are making an extensive library of training courseware available to area businesses," said Dr. Thomas McClanahan, ACT Center Executive Director and Associate Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs at Fresno State. "We are now focused on testing employee or applicant skills through our WorkKeys program, and we are also improving their job skills with training sessions using the latest technology."
The ACT Center will provide small and medium-sized businesses, government agencies and individuals with a much broader range and higher quality of training than they have been able to access, enabling them to remain competitive with major corporations at a reasonable cost. Among the services provided:
- Individualized, self-paced courseware which will save time and money by not duplicating what employees already know.
- Latest state-of-the-art technology for delivering training, education, and assessments.

- Support staff.
