Renee Kinman (Curriculum and Instruction)
Renee Kinman already holds an M.D. and a Ph.D. She was interested in pursuing an M.A. degree in Education-Curriculum and Instruction to become an even more effective and innovative medical educator. She also wanted to explore the parallels between medical education and K-12 education, and how these can intersect with public health. Renee’s graduate studies resulted in her being appointed as Associate Program Director of UCSF-Fresno’s pediatric residency program, which she has revamped to focus on community health, social justice, and advocacy. This important work, summarized in her thesis, includes partnering with local high schools’ health career pathways.
