There are two ways in which to use case studies. First, by using preexisting case studies and the other, as a type of research, writing one’s one case study. Case studies are precursors to problem based learning in that they present a real-life example, often with the results or outcomes. Using existing case studies allows a student to see an example, for good or bad, in how a situation in the community might unfold.
