Summative Assessment Meeting

Bringing the entire class together at the end of a service learning experience should be a celebration.  Showcasing the variety of activities students serves a two-fold mission:  As a reflective piece, students can summarize their triumphs—these experiences deserve bragging rights. 

Secondly, there are myriad closure activities to choose from.  You could have students write the front page of a newspaper on butcher paper; you could have them each do an imaginary slide show; or have them create a collage from magazines. One closure activity has students share their highlight (greatest memory), lowlight (worst part of the experience) and insight (something they learned) from the experience.
