Service-Learning Coaches

A group photo of the 2017-18 Service Learning Coaches.

The 2017-18 Service-Learning Coaches are (clockwise from back left) Ana Alcantar, Daniel Apuan, Keila Reyes, Alex Diaz, Jessica Weisz, Miracle Carter, and Berenice Tapia.

The Service-Learning Coaches (SL Coaches) is the newest RCSL team, which was in 2016-17.  Built on the success of the Reflection Facilitators (ReFs), Service-Learning Coaches utilizes trained students to lead reflection workshops for Fresno State students enrolled in service-learning courses.

Coaches provide essential hands-on experience for students who are looking to enhance their group facilitation skills, gain experience developing and implementing workshop curriculum, and practice developing and assessing learning outcomes.  Candidates must have successfully completed a service-learning course prior to working as an SL Coach.

New Service-Learning Coaches are recruited every spring.  If you are interested in serving as a Coach, contact Taylan Bennett-Parker or Mellissa Jessen-Hiser in the Richter Center by calling 559.278.7079.
