Reflection Facilitators (ReFs)

The 2017-18 Reflection Facilitators are (clockwise from back, left) Brooke Weber, Carlos Gonzalez, Marisa Gutierrez, Ella Grover, Ramiro Merino, and Nancy Arredondo Reyes.

The Reflection Facilitators (ReFs) Program was founded in 2011 and designed to give students volunteering at one-day service events a richer, more meaningful experience through the opportunity of participating in student led reflection activities.  After students have participated in service at university sponsored service events, ReFs engage them in discussion to further enhance their experience.

Student volunteers serving as ReFs undergo intensive training to learn facilitative leadership skills as well as reflection theory and methodologies.  This program is especially useful for students who are interested gaining leadership experience, are looking to further explore the field of community service, or are particularly interested in sharpening their group facilitation skills.
